Customs clearance for selling from China on WB and Ozon: what the seller does (almost nothing)

Sellers on Chinese Wildberries and Ozon Global accounts do not need a customs broker, a 'clearing company,' or their own export contract. All customs clearance—both export from China and import into Russia—is handled by the marketplace and its logistics partners. The seller's responsibility ends at the marketplace's warehouse in China.

How the supply chain works

1. You deliver the order to the marketplace's warehouse or drop-off point in China—addresses can be found in the articles on WB warehouses and Ozon warehouses.
2. The marketplace's carrier consolidates the parcels and handles the export from China.
3. At the EAEU border, the marketplace's partner handles the import clearance of the shipments.
4. The parcel is delivered to the buyer as goods for personal use—without your involvement.

The only 'customs' issue for the seller is the duty threshold

Duty is only charged to the buyer if the order exceeds 200 euros or weighs more than 31 kg. This is rare for typical goods from 1688. How this differs from traditional export

In traditional foreign trade, the exporter must handle declarations, contracts, currency control, and find a broker 'specializing in Russia.' Requests like '俄罗斯清关公司' (customs clearance company for Russia) belong to that world. In the marketplace cross-border model, this layer of work is simply absent: it is built into the marketplace's logistics rates.
